World Wetlands Day: Beauty and biodiversity

I *magine visiting Lake Sailful Malook, Kinjhar Lake or Ucchali, where you see a water body and a beautiful landscape like picture postcard in front of you. You see water there, some birds or plants.*

Up north and personal: Out of sight

*Monsoon mornings tend to be rather somnolent affairs: dull greenish-grey light distilled through tree branches is further diluted by the bedroom curtains. The underwater effect makes it impossible to discern whether it’s 5 am or 10 am. The oppressive atmosphere instills a peculiar lethargy in both humans and animals. Even the birdsongs are muted.*

Gobble de gook

Turkeys, for some obscure reason, are nowhere near as popular here as the ubiquitous chicken. Chicken, when not overly expensive, is an extremely popular form of white meat here in Pakistan.
