No onion export at Wagah despite lifting of ban

Ban on wheat export lifted
ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: The federal government decided on Tuesday to lift a ban on export of wheat to clear carryover surplus, although it was unlikely to be of much help without any subsidy in view of low international prices.
Growers foresee wheat seed shortage in wake of floods
HYDERABAD: Growers fear a serious shortage of quality wheat seed because of large-scale devastations caused by recent flash floods in the province as they welcome beginning of Rabi season by preparing land for sowing the grain.
‘Identifiable’ flour bags for Ramazan
LAHORE, July 24: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that a 20kg flour bag will be made available in the open market at a concessionary rate of Rs425, whereas 20kg and 10kg bags will be offered in Ramazan bazaars at the rate of Rs400 and Rs200, respectively. He said bags of special colour would be prepared for selling flour at concessionary rates.

Cultivating rice with little water successful
ISLAMABAD, May 9: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has successfully harvested rice grown on dry soil, not only expanding the scope of growing the crop in more areas but also ensuring food security amid threats of water scarcity.
Experiments conducted by the PARC at five farmers’ fields in Punjab and Sindh last year have produced successful results.
