‘Energy-saver bulbs hazardous to health’

ISLAMABAD, Friday, 04 Dec, 2009: Environment agencies and experts have expressed serious concern over government’s plan to purchase 30 million energy-saver bulbs at higher than market prices and distribute them across the country. According to them, the energy savers or compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) are not environment-friendly and pose health hazards. Moreover, incandescent light bulbs are no more an option in terms of price, output and performance.
