Need for infectious diseases control centre stressed

Woman dies of swine flu

epaper.dawn.com/ArticleText.aspxRAWALPINDI, Jan 13: A woman died of swine flu at the Holy Family Hospital on Wednesday night.
Dr Javed Hayat, the in-charge of the infectious diseases unit at HFH, confirmed that Saeeda was diagnosed with H1N1 swine flu virus and died at the hospital last night. She was a resident of Mungoot in Gujar Khan.
The patient was brought to the hospital last week with the complaints of fever and flu.

No dengue testing facility at Pims

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3: While dengue fever is spreading in many parts of the country, with over 430 confirmed cases in the twin cities, it is a surprise that the capital’s premier public hospital, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), does not have the equipment for testing the dengue virus in suspected patients.

20 more test positive for dengue fever in Pindi hospital

RAWALPINDI, Oct 13: The National Institute of Health (NIH) on Wednesday declared 20 more patients at Holy Family Hospital (HFH) as cases of dengue fever, bringing the tally to 25 at the hospital.
Besides, 40 more suspected patients arrived in the allied hospitals - HFH, Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
