20 more test positive for dengue fever in Pindi hospital

RAWALPINDI, Oct 13: The National Institute of Health (NIH) on Wednesday declared 20 more patients at Holy Family Hospital (HFH) as cases of dengue fever, bringing the tally to 25 at the hospital.
Besides, 40 more suspected patients arrived in the allied hospitals - HFH, Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.

Pims patient tests positive for dengue fever

ISLAMABAD, Oct 4: A patient has tested positive for dengue virus at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), it has been learnt.
Dengue fever is one of the common mosquito-borne diseases and is an acute viral infection characterised by chills and sweating.
“Three suspected patients were admitted to Pims a few days back and one of them has tested positive while reports of the two others are still awaited,” Pims Executive Director Prof Mehmood Jamal told Dawn on Monday.

Malaria outbreak in Mumbai

MUMBAI, Aug 20: India is battling record levels of malaria infection in Mumbai, health officials said on Friday. Authorities in the financial hub have drafted in experts from Medecins Sans Frontieres to tackle an outbreak which has seen nearly 4,000 cases this month alone.—AFP
