20th century medical education and training will not work in the 21st century

In a major new Lancet Commission report, released November 29, 20 academic and professional leaders call for “major reform” in the education and training of doctors and other health care professionals to equip them for the 21st century. Dr Zulfiqar Bhutta, Chair, Aga Khan University’s Division of Women and Child Health, Pakistan is among the 20 Global Commission Members.

Body to plan energy saving in offices

 LAHORE, April 19: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a committee headed by Senior Adviser to CM Zulfiqar Ali Khosa to formulate a comprehensive plan for energy conservation in government offices.
 
The committee is likely to present its report on Tuesday (today).
Before leaving for Islamabad to attend a chief ministers’ meeting to be presided over by the prime minister on how to resolve the power load-shedding crisis, Mr Sharif chaired a meeting here on Monday to evolve a policy for conserving energy.
