Islamabad turns to rainwater harvesting
ISLAMABAD, April 12: Islamabad on Monday became the country’s first city to launch a programme for harvesting rainwater, with initial plans to use it for recharging the water table.
The pilot project has been initiated in collaboration with the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) at the Faisal Masjid, however, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has made comprehensive arrangements to replicate this network across the capital city.
