Fresh spell of monsoon begins

LAHORE:  The new spell of the monsoon rains began on Thursday and the Met Office forecast isolated heavy falls in several cities in Punjab, including Lahore, and upper parts of the country in the next 48 hours.
Heavy rains and strong winds may generate urban and flash flooding in the local rivers and streams, said the Met Department in its warning.

Dust allergy cases increasing

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23: With the metrological department forecasting dry weather for the coming few days, hospitals in the capital have seen a surge in the number of patients suffering from dust allergy.
The city has been in grip of a dry and cold weather for the past few weeks as haze was engulfing the city, especially in the mornings.

A spell of dense fog from tomorrow

LAHORE, Dec 10: Most parts of Punjab are expected to experience a spell of dense fog from Sunday (tomorrow) due to persistent dry weather, decreasing temperatures and high trend of humidity in the air.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said on Friday the spell of dense fog was likely to persist for at least 10 days because there was no chance of rain in the country during this period.
Upper parts of the province have already been experiencing shallow foggy weather conditions during early mornings for the last two days.
